What to look for in new wheels/tires?
What to look for in new wheels/tires?
I'm interested in buying my first set of new/replacement wheels and tires for my Cayenne, but have no idea what to look when doing so.
- I assume I should beware of the seemingly great deals on eBay, but to what extent?
- When switching to a new set of wheels/tires (I'm only interested in buying them together) can I put them on myself or do they need to be done by a service technician?
- Will my TPMS still work with a new set of rims?
I really like this this set of rims. Do you think its a legitimate deal?
What do you think about this this set?
Any other information you can offer from personal experience would be appreciated.

Ebay does have some good deals to be found. It's just up to you to do your due diligence and checkout the seller - through feedback and email/phone.
You'll have to check with the specific seller for TPMS options. I doubt many will offer that though.
If you know how to properly/safely jack up your vehicle and remove the wheels, you shouldn't need a service tech.
*I* think the second choice is a much nicer looking wheel.

We have a lot of experience with shipping Cayenne wheel/tire packages so perhaps I can help.
If you are buying a wheel and tire package, it would be a good idea to get a new set of TPMS from the seller so they can be installed at the time of mounting....otherwise the tires will need to be dismounted upon arrival, then the TPMS will be removed from the factory wheels and then put into the new wheels, and then remounted and rebalanced. If you plan on re-using your own TPMS, it may be more cost effective to get the tires locally (or shipped in separately, like from the seller or Tire Rack) to prevent extra labor charges.
The Cayenne TPMS does not require a trip to the dealership to reset, so you can bolt the wheels on yourself, or at a standard tire shop.
The recommended tire size for a 22" is either a 295/30/22 or a 285/35/22. This is really at the discretion of the buyer, if you prefer a lower profile or a thicker sidewall. I like the Pirelli Scorpion Zero the best for the Cayennes.
As far as 22" wheels go, my favorite is the Deluxe Design D10. Nice clean design, hubcentric, great quality for a 1pc wheel, and fits OEM Porsche centercaps and TPMS.
