need help!!! MR2 18" wheels

Hi, I recently bought a 2000 MR2 with Veilside Fortune kit. It have front 18" XXR wheels and hit the car body when turn to one side. The tires are #40. I want to know what options I have for not having to change the wheels. Thanks

225/40/R18 are the front tires

what's the width of the wheels?? the wheel wells are tiny on the car so a no-brainer would be a 215/35/18 up front.
