Wheel spacers

Wheel spacers

Ok now im confused , want to put spacers on my 2006 C4S i have stock rims lobster claw i wanted to bring out the wheel to be flush with the body i have read lots of forums sames the normal for these widebodies are front 7mm and rear 17 mm but when i measure the distance between the tire and body i get 17 mm all around any help to clear this would be great .

i would go with a 12mm front and 17mm rear.

louie007 you have the right idea. Use some string and bolt to create a plum bob. Put the string at 12 o'clock in the middle of the fender and let the bolt dangle til it reaches the ground. The ground should stop the bolt from swinging and create a flat plane between the fender and the rim. The magic number I've always used is 5mm from the fender to the rim. The rim is a more positive stop than the tire. If your number is 17mm then I would go with a 12mm spacer. The 5mm distance is enough so if the tires are a little oversized they'll still sit under the fender or come out right to the edge of the fender.
