Question regarding wheel size and offset for wheel experts.
I've been looking to pick up a set of used wheels for my 997 Turbo and I see a lot of people say 996TT wheels will fit 997TT. But when I look at the offsets, 996TT rears always seem to have a lower offset than the 997TT wheels which leads me to think they'll stick out. Is it because different style wheels fit differently than each other?
For example, I have Forgestar CF5s on my car and the rears are 19x11 ET35 and they are flush with the fender. I see someone selling HRE 562 19x11.5 ET 37, doesn't that mean they will stick out past the fenders? But they seem to sit flush on a 996TT.
If my 19x11 ET35 sit flush with my fenders right now, is it safe to assume all other wheels by other brands will sit flush in the same size and offset or each wheel will fit differently depending on their maker and design?

The way offsets and widths work is kinda tricky. If you go with the 19x11.5's et 37, they will stick out 4.3mm (.171") more than your current 19x11 et35. If you measure with your index finger and your thumb .171" is really nothing. It may be noticeable but, prolly only to you.
