taking delivery of iforge wheels for my 997tt in a few weeks and was wondering if anyone here has used their oem tpms sensors installed on iforge or other aftermarket wheels? can these easily be installed without any fitment and performance issues?

Ask your wheel guy - some aftermarket wheels like Champion can take the OEM TPMS with no problems. I've put the 997 TPM sensors on both Champion RS97 and Sportec SPR and they fit just like OEM. Others have had to band the sensor - depends on how the wheel was manufactured.

 

u need to strap the sensors onto the wheels.

 

what do you mean by strapping the sensors onto the wheels? not via the oem valve stem to be used on the iforge wheels?

 

the sensor is part of the valve stem. it will not work with iforge wheel unless there's a newer design.

check with eclou about modifying wheels to work with porsche oe tpms. he had the valve stems machined to a larger diameter to accomodate the tpms valve stems on wheels he bought off ebay.
