Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
Technically this isn't a Dodge at all. In 1986 Carroll Shelby ordered 500 identical Omni GLH's from Dodge and took them to his facility in Whittier CA where he completely transformed them into low budget brawlers. Shelby started by converting to a 2 piece Shelby intake and adding a larger turbo and intercooler. Shelby also reprogrammed the ECM to add boost and change the timing/fueling, etc. The result was a 1900lb car with 175hp and 175ft lbs of torque.
Shelby didn't leave it at that, he also added Koni adjustable struts all the way around, as well as adding fat front and rear sway bars too. Then he increased the wheel size by putting on Shelby signature wheels and landed each GLH 'S' on larger tires.
The result was a Ferrari beater with an $11,000 price tag. The cars were sold through Dodge dealers but many were actually titled as Shelby's.
This particular car has 56k original miles and is car #424 of 500 made.
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
ECM mod's, larger injectors, boost controller and free flowing exhaust have this Shelby GLHS making 221hp at the wheels and still getting 22-23mpg.
