i mount the cell phone horizontally. i also mount a 8 inch tablet on a joy factory magconnect carbon fiber mount attached to the front passenger seat bolt. I use the cellphone as a hotspot for the tablet which allows me to use google maps on a gloriously large screen. Also lets me run Torque Pro with large displays when tracking the car.
