Thanks to Protosport and Protomotive
Congrats John,
I am anxious to hear about your car's performance once you are able.
I agree that you need the full fuel/air system to get the K24/18g's to be
super responsive (like mine). I immediately felt the strength of this system
with just small throttle inputs...This baby has TORQUE!!
Good luck,
MK

John, congrats on the car...just got back from a vacation with the family at a ranch in Montana for the week with no communications to the Porsche world so I am a little out of touch...glad it is exceeding your expectations. Best of luck at the strip. Kevin

It has taken you a few years to finally listen to what I had been saying all along.
When I first started down this road I created quite a stir. Some that market "other k16 hybrids" did not like what I had to say and pressured the rennlist folks to boot me because of lost business. Glad to see others enjoying the K24 hybrids from Protomotive. Todd's tuning with these turbos really makes for a sweeeeet package.
Tom,
I would not even consider a K16 based turbo because they Cannot flow enough, period. The K24/18g's absolutely sing music at 7000 rpm's!!!
I have finally seen the light and it is good!

John, glad to hear your car is running right and that you are happy with it. I didn't get a chance to see your car but from what John told me it is very well done.
Another satisfied Protosport/Protomotive Customer!
Congrats!

. Also, I would recommend the K24/20 as well. I think they can make an easy 700 plus RWHP. Cheers

Various turbos: my opinions based on some facts
This is my understanding:
The GT700 GT28 Garrets are quick spooling and lose "a little on top"
as compared to the K24/18G (the differential is even larger versus the
K24/20G). The GT700's are VERY responsive cars.
My car with K24/18G's produced very similar power numbers as compared to
Jamie Carter's car with the FIRST package that Todd built for him using the
Garet GT30 turbos. The difference was that the GT30's made thier power
sooner by 250-350 rpms. (this comparison was done on the same dyno,
Protomotive's DynoPack). Jamie later sent his car back (before the Supra
Nationals) and Todd modified the stock GT30's and built custom exhuast headers and muffs, etc. This final package produced numbers significantly higher
than mine and this car was/is quite the roll-on street racer as indicated by the
runs it does on the Supra video against the DYNO WINNER having over
1000 whp!!
BTW: I have been in contact with recently done GT700 car with race file
and we hope to do some fun runs soon!
