Best Exhaust kit
I love the sound of the AfterHours. For those that have them...., is there any drone?
I had the Borla catbacksystem on my old '06 C5 Vette four years ago and it sounded great but had a drone in 5th gear cruising that made my ears "tickle".Ended up removing it and put back to stock

Think PSE but a little louder (like it should be), with no drone. I have an audio clip that I need to figure out how to upload...
I agree with what most have said. It comes down to this (in my opinion). As far as quality is concerned you can't go wrong with any of the systems mentioned so far....Tubi, Cargraphic, AWE, etc. However, each does have it own distinctive sound. What you need to do is decide what kind of sound your looking for, then go from there. Do you want a higher pitched sound with more volume? Then go with Tubi or Cargraphic. Do you want something with a slightly deeper tone and more mellow volume? Then go with AWE.
I've heard them all in person, so if you're looking for a pretty good description of the sounds, feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to do my best to help make your decision easier.

Yes, and I liked the sound a lot. However, I may (or may not) be in the minority here, but I kind of like the "raspiness" of some of the other aftermarket systems. I think it's what makes a Porsche distinctive. The Borla takes away a lot of the raspiness and gives a more solid deeper tone.
Man, that took forever -- partly because I'm at work and don't have any editing software on my computer -- but below is a link to a youtube "video" of my Cargraphic exhaust.
Stock 997 S, no intake or other engine mods. Cold Start. Sorry for the cheesy graphics, but when there's a will there's a way.

How have you been? Nice to hear you are loving your Cargraphic Exhaust. Thanks for spreading the Cargraphic name. Great YouTube video.
Cargraphic actually has a link on their website as well.
Here is a link to the Cargraphic Super Sound Export Exhaust from the Cargraphic website:

On the Porsche, Borla eliminated it, and I love it!!

I love Tom's response and I agree with his sound descriptions- The best thing to do is go and have a listen to different exhausts at a local enthusiast meet if possible. I think out of all of them, the AH's are the most underrated- More than likely because there is no "mainstream" distribution- maybe that will change as vendors pick up the product. At their price point it is really tough to beat the sound, hand made quality and lightness.
There is a pronounced increase in cabin sound between 2000-2400RPM if you lug the car in 2nd / 3rd (heavy throttle, higher gear, boggy engine), but outside of that it is very tame inside from 2600 and up- At freeway cruising speed and idle it is mellow, where it counts. It's definitely not for the "lexus owner" type of pcar driver, it is for the pcar driver who likes a sports car to sound like one- That is how I would summarize it. I also love the Cargraphics- not crazy about the average retail price though, but I'd definitely jump on a group buy deal or a used set priced accordingly.
If you decide on Cargraphic, definitely buy from RSS- Those guys over there are top notch and super cool.

I have heard in person:
Cargraphic
AWE
Fabspeed
GMG WC
My favorite is GMG's but I am biased. AWE's full system is very similar to GMG's and Cargraphic offers a little deeper refined tone.
Both GMG and AWE have that Cup car sound with GMG being the louder of the two. When I have revved my car for people the usual response is "wow that sounds like a cup car".
Buuuttt, if you really want that cup car sound Fabspeed bypass is the only way to go. Its wicked loud and wicked sick! That being said, its uber uber uber loud! Did I mention it was LOUD!

I liked the PSE factory Sport exhaust..... No power gains but being able to "turn it off" when I came home or when I was on a call in the car is (was) nice.
Do any of the other systems incorporate the ability to turn them on/off??
