My First Porsche and it's awesome!
I took delivery of a 2014 911 Turbo S over the weekend. Thanks for all those who contributed on my previous thread for advice on the purchase.
I got a very special car. It's a CPO, 1 year and 9 months old, 4500 miles, with a 6 year 100k CPO warranty until August 2020. $197k original MSRP. Mint condition car, with all the options that I wanted:
I took the car for a 100 mile trip in the North Georgia mountains over the weekend and have to say I am completely blown away by the performance of this car and how accessible the performance is. My previous cars included an F10 M5 and a Jaguar F-Type R but I have never had a car with this much power to weight, and the traction to handle it.
They say power is nothing without control, and Porsche really epitomizes excellence in this regard. I haven't been able to drive a car at the limit with as much of a sense of control ever. The 991 TTS is in a league of its own.
Some of the things which have struck me so far
1) Traction. Amazing launches. 0-60 times are well known, but the feeling is like you are in a rocket. There is a huge difference between 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and 0-60 in 2.6 seconds and you can really feel it.
2) Exit speed from corners is phenomenal. You can apply throttle exiting corners far earlier than you can in a rear wheel drive car and to some extent I am relearning to drive to adapt to this.
3) Amazing handling. I considered an AMG-GTS but I think this car crushes the GTS in handling. Its really predictable, very communicative, the cornering limits are exceptionally high, and it instills a strong sense of confidence. The Porsche Torque Vectoring and active 4 wheel steering combined with Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control really make this feel like a much smaller and lighter car on the twisty mountain roads.
4) With the Europipe I don't see any lag at all. This may be due to my high flow exhaust with 100 cel cats. But this car doesn't feel like a turbo. It feels supercharged in terms of throttle response because there is no lag at all. The throttle response is spectacular.
5) Build quality is also superb. The car really feels built like a tank.
6) Sexy body. I hand washed this car twice in the first 3 days of ownership because I feel hand washing a car is the best way to understand and appreciate the design and the aero. I find myself going down to the garage.
Some questions
1) Any tips on cool features that I might not know of?
2) Any driving tips to get the most out of the car?
3) Any suggested accessories or upgrades that are worth considering? I am planning to add a top notch radar and laser jammer system soon.

You got a nice one stealth, I can hardly remember my M5 anymore it's been so long now. I have a built in 9500ci which has laser shift. It's excellent and I know you like those systems. I know you are reluctant to do tunes but I have to tell you, it's really not a big deal on the 991TTS. Get the AP and you can uninstall the tune yourself in less than a minute. You will be blown away by the difference it makes on top of what you already have.
ENJOY and what happened to the Jag? Not as exciting as hoped for?
