Someone brought this to my attention on instragram . Has the ECU been cracked ? Is it just nitrous ? Piggyback ? Anyone know more about this car ? Appears to be a Turbo not a Turbo S ,so it doesn't even have the bigger turbos which makes it seem too fast for just exhaust /tune .

its either a tune or nitrous I would guess a tune. it is on the fastest track in the world as well.

 

According to some members here, their piggyback tune on the 991.1 seemed aggressive but were fast at the half mile events in the US.

Yeah there was a guy running a PP tune at the SoCal events. Mark Blackwell and Arnie and others here saw the car run. It was the fastest 991 for some time. It is a piggy back so it's a non-starter for a lot of people.

 

I know people in their region running full bolt-ons and piggy-backs on the 991.2TT.

991.2TT becomes very fast with small bolt-ons, as it has already bigger turbos from the factory and some other small changes on the engine.

 

Yes, the black pp car when there was only stage 2 cars he was beating us by 1.5 car lengths in the 1/2 mile he was putting out 20-30 more hp than we were.

Emre i I think you had out intercoolers at that time before any us companies had them I just figured he was running intercoolers and a hotter tune. When I switched to bydesign stage 3 and COBB I was finally able to beat him at shift sector. If I had to guess this is a FBO 991.2 with a piggy back tune. Very fast car, 6 months from now the 991.2 are going to be flying!

 

I just watched the video, that thing is moving out - 140mph trap speed is crazy. I used to doubt the ME results too until the US Cobb/ByDesign cars started posting ridiculous results for the 991.1 as well.

I know that is a notorious track but those guys are undeniably pushing the envelope. Have to respect that.

I got a text teasing something good is coming for the 991.2 any day now... can't wait.

 

geezzz 9.8s without even trying. Soft launch too, or seems that way. These cars will run 9s with a tune only. Imagine if you add exhaust, IC's etc.
