No more P-O-R-S-C-H-E (need opinions)
Hi Guys -
I purchased a new 2014 Carrera S last Saturday and the mods to make it mine begin within a couple days. Today I find myself removing the letters from the back as it just appears too much in my opinion.
I have already removed the PORSCHE lettering knowing this was the first to go because we all know its a Porsche - so is a Boxster, so is a Caymen, so is a Cayenne, etc...
I purchased a new set of "Carrera S" labels and planned to paint the "Carrera" gloss black and the "S" red. I also planned to relocate the new labels in the center when reapplying.
However, I find myself liking the OEM chrome with my clear taillights, and would leave the "911" script as well.
Looking for opinions before I remove anymore ...

Funny how a simple de-badge can make such a big difference visually. I've also never seen it done this way, though I admit that I like it. Makes the rear end look a bit beefier with the emblem sitting lower IMO.

I like it in the Chrome with the clear lights. It would not kill you to plasti dip them and if you hate just peel it off and you are back to square one.

Good stuff guys!
In order to do that I will obviously need to remove and install the new badging. At that point, should I paint the "Carrera" black and the "S" red as originally planned?
I kind of like it where it is ... an unexpected result. Was just curious what the consensus was from my fellow brethren.

A profile with the ducktail...
Here is a 3/4 profile with the full logo... just seemed (PORSCHE removed now) too busy to me.

I don't know how obvious it is. When I took the Carrera off of my 991 C2, the adhesive was still so strong that it could have easily been reapplied. But even if that's not possible, it's easy to get a new badge and simply stick it on ("installation" is nothing more than pressing down on the badge/sticker). I got mine on eBay from a wholesaler rather cheaply. But if you like it where it is, great. It looks different, which is cool. But what I like most about your car is the black trim. Going with a centered 911 Carrera S in black on the back would look incredible, I think.

I know and agree. Decisions...
