intermediate shaft noise - What the hell?
Seriously how the hell can this thing get made any quieter?
I have a buddy's turbo for the past few weeks being stored with me and im scared even moving the thing around that the engine is going to come out the side one day on start up.
Do they really ALL make this noise? Is there any way to make it quieter?

Some are worse than others- I always hear if the noise goes away when reved over 1k or so, it's fine.
Supposedly 5w50 oil is supposed to quiet it down, but had little to no effect in my car.

Mine doesn't make that much noise. It will be louder immediatly upon a cold start but it quiets down real quick. Maybe your buddies turbo is modified and has light weight fly wheel in there. Without the normal dual mass flywheel the tranny can make a lot more noise. Not bad for it just annoying. Could also be a loud aftermarket exhaust or any number of other things though.

Yup read your entire thread Art.
No LWFL on the car noise actually gets louder once it reaches Operating temperature. Going to trying soem 5-50 oil in it for him cause this thing makes me angry it sounds like this. I have read so much about it its funny. Even the 997s are going to have these problems.

I've heard some GT3's that sounded reeeally bad.
Some of them had some really noisy valvetrain/chain too. I asked to the Porsche mechanics that were there at the track, and they said it was nothing to worry about.

Loudest Fabspeed there is is on there right now. Everytime i move it around parking spots i set off my neighbors car alarm its really funny.
Has anyone tried any Additives to the oil with success?
Im going to switch this car to 5-50 or 5-40 Mobil 1 this week. The filter was just changed like 150km ago should i dont think i should worry much about it but will inspect it none the less.
