Headlight Update

Headlight Update
I'm planning on doing a headlight update that will require disassembling the headlights to install a bi-xenon projector to replace the existing projector and high beam. When completed, it should look like the 986 pictured below.
Here is the thing... I'm working with a guy who builds the assembly holding the projector and he needs me to send him the guts of the 996 TT light so he can design and build an adapter that will allow anyone (you and me) to do this mod quickly and easily. Does anyone on 6 SO have a damaged light (I just need one) that they could part with for a few weeks? I'm pretty sure all I need is the part where the current projector is mounted (not the fog).
If I can't find one to send him, I'll have to disassemble my light and I'll be unable to use the car for a few weeks. I'm trying to avoid that.
This is what he has been doing with projector designs. Note the different shapes of the housing. He can also do any color.

Once I have a test light to send them, it should take a few weeks for the result to be ready.

Yes, the halogen bulb is required by law for 'flashing', also supplements the projector in high-beam mode. Mk.1 Carrera/Boxster had single/low beam Xenon projectors, Mk2. headlights with Xenon option(standard on our cars) are a high/low bi-xenon unit. Our projectors are a very 'well-performing' unit, and likely would be a downgrade to use something from the aftermarket.

I can't see your image, but the guy who is helping me with this is already selling plug and play kits for 986 for $300 - plug & play with some assembly/dis-assembly required.

Yes, Delrey is supposed to be doing a complete replacement unit (plug & play). They are projected to cost around $1,500 for the pair (no promises on price) and no indication on when they will be ready. The "Mod" I am working on requires some work but will cost around $300 total. I may end up doing both depending on the status of the LED replacements from Delrey.

This picture makes me think that tt would be cool if the fog light portion of our lights became some sort of intake (even if just for looks), we lose the headlight washer and everything other than the actual silver portion in the pic where colour matched to the car. Would be a huge step towards looking like the classic 911 lights found on the 997.

I'm thinking maybe a static headlight washer like the 991 would work (but in the popup location to reduce the work). It wouldn't be effective at speed because it is spraying from the side, but neither is the stock unit.
