Limited Slip for Tiptronics

Limited Slip for Tiptronics
I'm at the point now where my front diff is feeling a little weak...non existent..lol. I will probably replace it but it would be even more beneficial if I had a limited slip unit. I have had too rebuild TIP and running race gas she's having some traction issues where as before it would hook and go. I have been searching and all the threads asking for LSD for Tip say no LSD! I read a thread the other day and I could have swore that a member here said he had a LSD in his tip. Also, is it worth the money for a tip reflash for the higher RPM? Markski raised my rev limiter but Trans tcu holds it down and when sitting still in park I can't rev it past like 4K rpm. Thank you for looking!

Thank you! I found a thread
http://rennlist.com/forums/996-turbo...e-turbo-4.html
I emailed them and waiting on a response. If I get one great, if not, it's not the end of the world. I do appreciate your effort.

Unlikely the viscous coupling or its fluid is bad. AFAIK the special fluid is lifetime.
The amount of torque transmitted to the front diff is dependent upon speed with the range being 5% (plus or minus a bit) to 40% which word I have comes at around 150mph.
Before I considered putting an LSD unit in the front diff -- without searching before hand I'm not even sure the front diff can accept an LSD -- I'd consider putting an LSD in the rear diff. Something set up for and capable of withstanding the rigors of tracking.

agree. seems to me the front diff obviates much of the benefit that is derived from running a REAR lsd anyway, and that would be for cars with the front diff inactive or removed ( not getting into the whole poor mans vs full rwd conversion discussion! )
but i would flush your front diff, and how long since you flushed that m benz trans??
i understand your issue is with what you're "feeling" in FRONT, but you had to mean a lsd for the REAR... no?!
if you dont know WHEN? any fluid change occurred ( front diff and FULL tip service ( although i know NOTHING about them, thankfully! ), i would still source the "issue" you're experiencing and you'll likely source it there, btw those two suggestions.

Guys I apologize by the way that came off. I am very versed at how the front diff works. I read a thread a while back and saw where a person installed a LSD or TBD in the rear of the Tip and really felt good. Before I started modding I could tell that the front was doing something. Even after the mods I could feel it. I plan to replace it with standard front diff and looking for SOMETHING FOR REAR. It seems that Quaife has made a couple units and I have sent them an email. They are on vacation till 19th. My Trans is fresh rebuilt. When I first got the car the fronts would rotate with quite a lot force when on the lift but now nothing. Everything is spinning to the input side of diff and she has a little growling sound

do plenty of due diligence ( not that you wouldn't! ) btw the quaife ( for OUR cars ) vs the wavetrac, all things considered i think you'll end up going w'trac. its flawless.
check out the 1st pg current thread on " traction etc". good idea.. and and GL.

Sadly wavetrac doesn't make a diff for the auto
