New here, coming from a Lotus and looking for a C2S...

Hi all, new here. I am looking to replace my modded Lotus Elise for a 997 Carrera 2S. I will track the car and I have a few questions:

- Any known problem to adress before taking it to the track?

- How hard is the car on brakes and tires at the track?

- Any cheap way to up the power on the S ?

- Any options to look for for a tracked C2S? I believe the Sport Chrono is a must, but I don't really understand what it does or how it works.

- Anything else i should know?

Let me know please.

If your primary driving is the track , rather tahn buy a 997S and mod it up why not get a used Gt3 with a few interior perks to make it more street compatible too.

Welcome to the 6speed community. You'll most likely get plenty of replies here to your thread but the search option up top will yield hours of useful reading addressing your exact questions - Take a little time to see what mods other members have performed and get a good general consensus rather than the quick advice of one of two... It will lead to less trial and error. Good luck and let us know what car you end up in!

I need the backseat to carry the kids around...

Plus the GT3 is just too expensive.

+1

GT3 would be a better tool for the job - even if you had to go with a 996.

It would be easier to stuff kids in the rear of the GT3 than the Lotus!

IIRC someone added rear seats to a GT3 for the occasional kid hauling.
