The car is very reliable, it has been driven long distances and hard without any issues. It could easily serve as a daily driver if you so wanted. As it stands now, the car has only seen rain a handful of times and never seen the snow. The paint is in perfect condition, not a single swirl on it anywhere.
I will not part the car out, it will be sold as a whole.
Considering trades ... 964 911 + cash on buyer's end.
UPDATE Feb 2015:
IMS has just gone through the entire car:
- head was built
- new clutch installed
- transmission checked (looks great! no metal shavings, no shaft play)
- new custom exhaust (sounds epic)
- hot side of the turbo housing, headers, and down pipe we ceramic coated and heat wrapped.
- UM updated the tune to their latest version, now with adjustable launch control and no lift shift.
Car is now located in Georgia.
Pictures:
Everything all together and heat wrapped. Dirty from testing:
And now for some glamour shots:
And a video:

Great question: It's the standard VW 2.5L 5-cylinder with upgraded internals. We weighed the pros and cons of going with a TT-RS engine. At the end of the day, this fuel system and internal setup on this car is capable of 900awhp with a larger turbo. Something you simply can't do on the direct injection fueling system on the TT-RS engine without additional injectors and some kind of extra ECU to run them.
That, plus the carbon build up issue people see with DI after 30K miles was not something I wanted to deal with. Thus, using the VW engine rather than the Audi version.
Thank you!

Feedback from the buyer of my 1 of 1 .:R36 project car:
"Believe everything that this man tells you about his build. I bought his last insane idea dubbed the R36. The facts were all accurate and the build quality is incredible. Props to Tom and Jeff and all the others at IMS involved in its creation. I drive it hard everyday and I'm so pleased I bought it. It turns heads everywhere. I have put 15K miles on it since last fall when I bought it and the only issue I have had that required real attention was a loose rear axle bolt and a weld breaking on the exhaust down pipe. I cant really complain though, its a car and **** breaks. If your the guy that buys it you wont regret it, I might just have to find a way to go FI with my R36 to keep up. If anyone is interested in seeing the R36 feel free to PM me or come see the car at Garnet VW where I work. GLWS Jesse"
