It was a 12 round battle that I was winning much of the way but with my first born due in March, the wife delivered the knock out blow and the two door must go.
2005 SL65 - 34,xxx miles - 39 months of fidelity platinum warranty - $52k
Mechanical and service history is fantastic. The car has always been under warranty and meticulously serviced. As you'd expect on a ABC car, multiple struts have been replaced (by an AMG master tech), the most recent one 2 years ago and I had the ABC fluid replaced at the time. Other than that nothing note worthy. I have Mercedes VMI available at request.
An extensive service was recently completed by MBworld favorite BenzWorks. fluids, two new batteries, spark plugs, brake pads and they performed a pre purchase inspection. I'll provide service records and PPI to interested parties.
To go along with the fantastic mechanical and service history is a Fidelity Platinum warranty with 39 months remaining. Over $6k value!
The car has every option available in an 05 SL65 except the distronic cruise. It does have the panoramic roof with alcantera. I have the window sticker.
Wanting to keep the car in pristine the mechanical condition - the only two performance mods are a conservative BenzWorks x OE Tuning ECU/TCU tune and "resonator delete" exhaust (both done at 28,000 mile mark).
The cosmetic history of the car is opposite of the mechanical history, lol!
The carfax is clean and there was never a collision but there was a hail incident. Instead of of PDRing the OEM panels I decided to replace them by installing the Prior Design wide body kit.
The build was a collaboration between BenzWorks who has overseen multiple wide body SL builds and Ivan of Strasse Sport who has done hundreds of wide body builds as a former partner at LTMW.
I went all out - here is the list:
Prior Design Black Edition wide body kit – Retail is $14k
Ferrari Grigio Silverstone paint + body kit install
Carbon Fiber overlay on front lip + rear diffuser
SL63 headlights
SL63 tail lights + 3rd brake
SL63 grille
SL65 Black Series OEM exhaust tips
oCarbon Carbon Fiber interior
D2 Forged 3piece wheels
Renntech lowering module with remote
The car looks amazing! The only disappointment on the build was the rear wheel/tire combo. The rear wheels were not spec'd aggressive enough so I am running a H&R Track+ spacer. I should have gone with a 345 tire instead of the 325 as well. Neither is a big deal but worth pointing out.
Pirelli Pzero all the way around. Rears have less than 2,000 miles and fronts less than 100.
In October of 2014 after the wide body kit was installed, a piece of tire retread caused some very minor damage to the front bumper (see picture at very bottom) that damage was repaired and instead of taking a short cut and blending paint...I had the entire car repainted in the same Grigio Silverstone  The car was going to be in SEMA and we were going for best paint so we had to do it right!
Book value on the car is a bit over $40k and the warranty puts it in the $46k. Essentially I'm looking for a $6k premium on $40k of mods.
I'm open to 4 door car trades as well. Enough talk, enjoy the pictures!

I'll be posting more pictures of the exterior and images of the interior (very good condition, charcoal leather everywhere including that dash on carbon) later this week.
Would love to trade for a C63, Panamera TT, S4, S6, S7.
