2008 Cayenne V6

Hello:

I have been doing alot of research on the Cayenne. Thinking about buying this car and would like to know your thought and suggestion of what I should look for on the 2008 version.

Is there any known problem with the base model? Any major problem should I look for when looking at the car?

Thanks

Agree with CPO. If you want a nice PCM, go for the 2009. As far as problems, I had acceleration hiccups that needed repair multiple times on my 2008 V6. Maybe I just had bad luck.

Are you sure it wasn't your coils.

I can't be sure about the coils, but my engine light went on after the acceleration problem. They replaced a couple of things, but problem was persistent. These were replaced: DFI pump, Tank vent leak, canister, high-pressure pump.

Had mine (08v6) for 3 years now. Pretty reliable car overall. Only issues so far have been cosmetic (replaced fogged up headlight under warranty, dealer had to adjust window frames due to annoying clicking sound, under warranty). Other than that, first gen cayennes do have thier particularities, such as - brakes squeal if you live in dusty environments, suddden acceleration is delayed unless you''re in sport mode, transmission downshift make weird sounds every now and then.

After doing much of the research and thank you for all who response to my questions. I pull a trigger on the 2008 Cayenne S yesterday. So far, I love how the car feel. This car is mostly for my wife and the deal I got from the Porsche dealer, I can not resist. It has 38K miles.

The car is Sand White exterior with Havana Leather Interior. The option on the car is : Prefer Plus package which include 2 front heated seats, Xenon, Bose surround sound system, Sunroof. The other option is Dark wood, Back up camera, Aluminum Roof rack, and some other small thing. The car comes with additional 2 years after the original warranty expire in July 2011, and up to 100K miles.

Below is the picture and my wife loves it!! =)

good choice on going with the S......

As an FYI, the 08's have DFI and the fuel pumps seem to be more problematic but not epidemic levels.
