Can clutch wear be observed from laptop?
It was suggested that I plug in a laptop to the car and have the dealer go in and observe clutch wear? If not, will a recent service record less than 1,000 miles/8 months ago be open for public view for someone planning to purchase an 06' Gallardo?
Problem is the dealer who has the car is about 300miles away from an authorized Lambo dealer. Really dont want them driving the car 300 miles or having the car flatbedded either.
Advice?

Assuming the car is e-gear, a Lambo dealer can hook up a laptop to it and check the clutch wear. It can't be done with just any laptop as it requires the Lamborghini diagnostic software. Most dealers are very cooperative with providing copies of prior service orders to prospective buyers (usually they black out the name of the prior owner), but the prior service order may or may not have the clutch wear on it (you didn't say if you knew it did or were just hoping, and it's not an automatic thing that dealers do every time the car is in for service). Sounds like you're either going to have to find something on a prior SO or send the car to the dealer if you really want the info.

The car is an EGear. Here is what I found out.
On 8/21/08, The ILLUMINATION CONTROL MODULE was replaced and they REPROGRAMMED ILLUMINATION CONTROL. Windshield Wipers were replaced and washer hoses re-secured. Work was done at Lamborghini West Palm and parts came from Lamborghini Chicago. Total Cost: $1,007.23
Clutch wear was not calculated; was not requested to be checked. Last known clutch wear reading was 30% wear at approx 6,500 miles. If driven the same way clutch wear would be at pprox 50%.
Anytime anything went wrong the car got brought in. Even for windshield wipers and to adjust headlights. The guy who owned this car traded it in for a F430. Im assuming the clutch will last me for a little while longer. Honest seller with 100% positive feedback on ebay. Its a done deal. I couldnt sleep all weekend pondering the idea to buy this thing. I need to get this thing on the way to Jersey! Ithaca Verde

John, take the extra time to get an actual reading...should be in the neighborhood of 2.2 and move upwards to 5 (actual readout/measurment from the diagnostic). From what I remember, the lower the number, the better *less worn. The higher, the closer you are to having to get the clutch replaced. Good to know for piece of mind. I walked from a car in Feb. because of the clutchwear.
Congrats and post up pics when it arrives.

One more thing, I was trying to find the thread for you but there was Verde Ithica on eBay that had been title washed, be very weary of it (obviously) - from the pics and post I remember that the auction actually showed missing pieces that forum members noticed on the pics of the trunk opened. Can't remember if it was here or LPower...just a heads up.

Hey Albert thanks for your help and concern I appreciate it man. Long time no talk. Hope all is well!
Yes that Verde was an SE and that car resides in PA and is at VW/Audi dealership now. I had a friend trace that vin back and also recieved some pics as well. I did consider that car until I found that out. I owe it to Turbomike for doing the legwork on that.
I just bought the car. Didnt get the actual reading, wish I could have, but the time I would lose at work would cost more than the clutch if I flew down. I know its a crap shoot, but if I gotta replace the clutch soon I can live with that.
Here is a link for the car. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=180361920129 Side emblems gotta go, maybe throw some wheels on and lower the coils, exhaust, tint. Call it a day.
