Lamborghini Gallardo Recalled Over Fire Risk

Lamborghinis? Catching fire? What are the chances?
The italian auto manufacturer has issued a recall on Gallardos built between 2004 and 2006 at the behest of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to the NHTSA, “In certain driving condition, the high-pressure steering pipes near the steering assistance hydraulic system pump might leak.” In the presence of an ignition source (like a hot engine bay) the fluid could ignite.
Lamborghini has also gone on to say that there have been no claims of fires, accidents or injuries related to the recall. Right. Because Gallardos are basically fire proof.
Needless to say, if you have a Gallardo made in the specified time frame you should probably take it in to get that fixed as soon as you can.
