The new Bugatti Chiron will mark its debut next year at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The car is said to accelerate to 60 miles per hour in just 2.0 seconds, be powered by a hybrid quad e-turbo W16 engine, make over 1,500 horsepower, and has the ability to literally knock the wind out of those piloting the new hypercar if not ready for its onslaught of power. Yet, there has been a sincere lack of information on just how fast this new hypercar will be.

When the Bugatti Veyron debuted over a decade ago, it became the world’s fastest car, and held that record for quite some time. It also kicked off a new arms race within the supercar community. One that was measured in absurd top speeds. Speeds that have more in common with jet fighters or land speed record cars, than something you can drive on the road or not need a special license to drive.

Now we have a rumor from the Daily Mail about the Chiron’s top speed. Are you sitting down, because the Chiron will supposedly hit 288 miles per hour, just 12 miles per hour short of 300, which if proven true, will be absolutely ridiculous. We can’t wait.
