991.2 GT3RS Dashes Through the Snow in Finland

Your afternoon relaxation brought to you by the color green.

Temperatures are beginning to rise and the snow is thawing all throughout the American Northeast. Still, we thought it’d be nice to take one last look back at winter before we pulled our Porsches out of storage for the driving season ahead.

GTBOARD.com apparently agrees with us, as they’ve just released this video of a brand new 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3RS dashing through the snow in Finland. In a quiet, still landscape covered in snow, the bright green Porsche, loud and raucous, reminds us that spring will be here soon.

Grass will grow, flowers will bloom, birds will chirp, and the sounds of high-performance flat-sixes will once again reverberate through our quietly humming neighborhoods.

With that said, hearing the GT3RS’s rowdy report rip through the quiet stillness of a Finnish winter is oddly relaxing and surprisingly beautiful. The Porsche dances across the snowy landscape with breathtaking grace, and the wide angles evoke a master artist expertly moving his brush across a virgin canvas.

As much as we appreciate the engine noise, this video also made us appreciate silence. It’s so rare to experience true silence over the din of our daily lives, so consider this video a brief meditation.

The video has no music, no voice overs, and no sound effects, just the beautiful song of the GT3RS and the soothing sound of snow crunching beneath its wide tires.

The video is nearly seventeen minutes long, and the lion’s share of that run time is made up of shots of the Porsche navigating the snowy track. The rest of the time is a silent tour of the new GT3RS as it lay dormant on the track. It allows for a moment of quiet reflection, not unlike the act of assuming the Shavasana pose at the end of a yoga practice. Namaste.
