BBi’s Approach To Building Porsches Should Be The Envy Of All Enthusiasts

If you like 911’s, be prepared to put a visit to BBi on your wish list.

Some people are very picky when it comes to changes, and when it comes to changing Stuttgart’s finest sports cars, opinions are not in short supply. We all know there’s a right and wrong way to build up a car beyond its original specs, and one of the places that does it right is a tuning company called BBi. Betim Berisha, the guy in charge, points out why the 911 is, for him, the car of choice. “Here at BBi we focus on tuning 911’s. It’s such a mod-friendly platform because it’s so over-built.” And he’s right too. Through their experience, horsepower increases by the hundreds are no problem for some stock engine internals. Oh, and transmissions have been known to run nearly 1,000 to the wheels.

But beyond just increased performance, these cars bring an emotional level out from the owners. Berisha points out: “you can see a car, when it’s set up right, there’s this emotion that goes with it. I don’t know why, because it’s an inanimate object.” But that’s what each owner gets from their car. Of course, after BBi has worked on it, they get much more.

Even better is how BBi keeps things relatively docile. “We right now have this 911 Turbo, making about 1,200 to the wheels. And it was all about keeping drivability and functionality of the car.” Berisha goes on to liken the cars to a home stereo, noting you can have incredible amounts of power, and you know it’s there when you want it, even if you don’t use it all the time.

That’s what we consider building a car like a 911 the correct way. Some may go to a certain modification for looks, but BBi puts the performance of parts and beauty of the 911 together in a way we really admire.
