Bona fide BMW E30 M3 Group A race car is FIA legal through 2034 and is ready for you to dominate tracks in iconic classic style.

We’re guilty of endlessly window shopping through online classifieds and auctions. What car enthusiast isn’t? While there is no shortage of rare and incredible supercars coming up for sale from time to time, every once in a while, something truly spectacular comes across our plate. This 199 BMW E30 M3 Group A race car is one of those cars. This isn’t a track-day car you can take to Cars and Coffee. It’s not a racing-themed daily. This is a genuine racecar that the FIA has deemed legal for racing through the end of 2034. It’s complete with a roll cage, center-lock wheels, racing suspension, and more.

If you’re looking to get into racing and an E30 M3 at the same time, you’re looking at your best opportunity to date. Currently listed on Bring A Trailer, this stunning car isn’t a bit of history; it’s still making history. At the time of writing, it’s at $100,000 with three days of bidding left to go. Frankly, for what you’re getting, that is a phenomenal deal. You likely couldn’t re-create this car for anything short of double that current bid. It’ll definitely be interesting to see what the final sale number will be.

Ready to Rock and Still Dominant

This E30 M3 has a Group-A-spec-built S14 engine that Terry Tinney Performance put together in June 2025. It now has a 2.5-liter crank with custom pistons and rings, new bearings throughout, and fresh performance valves. It does still retain the original large-sump oil pan courtesy of M Motorsport, header, and individual throttle bodies. The listing states that its said to produce around 287 horsepower at the rear wheels.

Inside, you’ll find a full roll cage, a Sparco racing seat, a multi-point racing harness, a fire suppression system, and a fuel cell.  You’ll also find a gear lever that links your inputs to a ProDrive/Getrag 256 five-speed manual transmission custom-built with cryo-treated gears and dog-ring engagement. Power makes its way to the rear wheels via a freshly rebuilt, limited-slip differential with a 4.45:1 gear ratio.

In July 2025, this very car set the fastest lap time in its class and took home first place at an SVRA event at Portland International Raceway. So, if you’ve any doubts that this car is still ready to do what it’s made to do, rest easy. All you need is to be talented enough to get the most out of it.
