To celebrate 50 years of the Carrera RS 2.7, Porsche unveils US exclusive aesthetic package for the 911 GT3 RS.

Paying homage to a market that fully embraced the very special Carrera RS 2.7, Porsche confirmed a Carrera RS aesthetic package for the 911 GT3 RS after the concept went on display during this year’s Monterey Car Week. While the engine, transmission, brakes and suspension remained unchanged, the styling directly takes after the peppy little car that came out in the 70s.

“America is the second home of the 911 and a special tribute exclusive to the U.S. is the perfect way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7,” said Kjell Gruner, CEO of Porsche North America. “So many of us idolized the original 1972 car. We want to create a special experience that combines exclusive options on the new GT3 RS with a one-of-a-kind list of accompanying items.”

The accompanying items that will come with the tribute car are unique wheels specific to the model in Porsche’s Python Green. The exterior follows the Python Green decals across the body, underneath the wing and in the interior — complete with the “GT3 RS” script following the original Carrera’s. On the interior, the black leather seats are accented with Python Green stitching, with RS badging placed on the center console and dashboard.

In addition to the clever styling, Porsche is sweetening the deal with a NFT program that will keep track of your lap times and post them to other GT3 RS owners at participating tracks and Porsche events. Through that program, accomplishments and records are kept in the digital realm, but can also come in the physical form as decals to place on the vehicle.

Though, that’s not the only thing that will be keeping track of time. As an owner of a 911 GT3 RS with the Carrera RS trim, you’ll also be an owner to a watch that matches the car. The watch face is styled after the Python Green wheels, and the bands are black leather with Python Green stitching, mirroring the interior.

However, not just anyone can put in an order for the $312,550 car. Porsche says that the only ones who can order this particular GT3 RS are those who already have a GT3 RS allocation at a Porsche dealership. Otherwise, you’ll just have to drool over the pictures of it from Porsche.
