Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 Manual V12 Car

Though it’s not what most would call affordable, this V12 Ferrari seems like a screaming deal compared to its multi-million-dollar family members.

It’s easy to get lost in the world of classic Ferrari models, bringing millions or even tens of millions of dollars at high-end auctions. However, not all hope is lost for those who want to manually row gears in a 12-cylinder Ferrari but don’t have a couple of average American retirement funds on deck to spend on a car. A handful of classic Ferrari V12 models live just outside the edge of the spotlight. While they aren’t exactly affordable, they are certainly more affordable than the likes of the $11 million Ferrari 250 GT SWB that sold in 2024.

Enter this 1968 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 on Bring A Trailer. This is a proper classic Ferrari grand touring car with plenty of pedigree and heritage. It’s absolutely gorgeous, one of only 800 examples made over the course of a three-year production run, and it even has back seats! Best of all, it has an authentic Ferrari V12 powerplant under the hood. This pristine example with only around 58,000 miles on the odometer (read in kilometers) sold for a modest $212,000. This is a lot of car for that price point in comparison to some of its multi-million dollar era-appropriate brethren.

Manual, 12 Cylinders, and a Prancing Horse Badge

When we say this car checks all the boxes, we mean it. It features a 4.4-liter overhead camshaft Ferrari V12 engine with triple Weber carbs, which, when new, produced a whopping 320 horsepower. Better still is the fact that it puts the power to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It has four-wheel disc brakes, a gorgeous design by Pininfarina, and it’s even the first 2+2 Ferrari to feature independent rear suspension.

This particular example was originally finished in Amaranto. However, it was, at some point in its life, refinished in the gorgeous dark blue that it currently wears. It was originally delivered in Geneva, Switzerland, in September 1968. Now, though, it’s already stateside and went to its new owner with a clean New Jersey title. It also came with recent suspension replacements, a window regulator, and a full ignition tune-up with spark plugs, drive belts, heater hoses, seals, and more.

Deals Are Out There. You Just Have to Look Carefully

If you’re the type of person who dreams of owning a 250 GTO for the sake of exclusivity and owning something that multi-millionaires will drool over, this car isn’t for you. However, if you’re an authentic automotive enthusiast with a desire to own a classic V12 Ferrari, this 365 GT 2+2 should put some hope in you. Sure, you may have missed out on the opportunity to buy this particular example. There are, however, a handful of classic Ferrari V12 beauties out there that don’t require the same price tag as an eight-bedroom house in Malibu.
