Koenigsegg One-1 Rendered

Christian von Koenigsegg is working on his next low-flying cruise missile. It’s called the Koenigsegg One:1, and is named after the car’s weight-to-power ratio of one kilogram per horsepower.

The One:1 will have 1,400 horsepower and weigh only 1,400 kilograms, or 3,086 lbs. I should add, that’s the hypercar’s wet weight — the weight with a full tank of petrol and topped-off oils/fluids. The 1,400-kg weight also includes the driver’s weight. With more horsepower than the nearest asteroid, the One:1 will be able to hit 280 miles per hour.

The new Koenigsegg is expected to reach 200, 300 and 400 kph more quickly than any other car on the planet. Christian von Koenigsegg estimates the One:1 will be able to hit 400 kph (249 mph) in 20 seconds. The Bugatti Veyron takes 45 seconds to achieve the same velocity.

You’ll be seeing the first One:1 prototype rolling out by the end of this year, but if you’re dreaming of buying one, don’t waste your neuron power. Koenigsegg plans to build only six units of the One:1, and all have been pre-sold. The car’s price has not yet been revealed. Hit us up in the comments with your Koenigsegg One:1 price estimates.
