Saturday’s Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta was the final round of the 2013 ALMS championship and also the last race for the series. The ALMS and the Grand Am Sportscar series will combine to form the United Sports Car Championship starting with the inaugural 24 Hours of Daytona in January.

In P1, Lucas Luhr missed out on his Fiftieth career victory as his team Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing suffered their first DNF of the season, ending their eight race win streak. Defending Petit Le Mans champions, Rebellion Racing, returned to ALMS competition in dominate form. The Swiss team was unchallenged after the Muscle Milk/Pickett Racing entry went behind the wall.

In P2, Level 5 Motorsports team owner/driver  Scott Tucker captured the the Driver’s championship thanks to the efforts of co-drivers Marino Franchitti, and Ryan Briscoe with a class win, and a second place, over-all finish.

In PC, The Driver’s championship was decided by just 11 seconds and a single point. Chris Cumming of BAR1 Motorsports finished first in class giving him the points championship over Mike Guasch on Pickett Racing by just one point.

In GT, Team Falken Tire, brings home the victory over BMW Team RLL.
