Make This Porsche GT3 RS Your Soundtrack of the Day

Turn down Taylor Swift and turn the up the sweet, sweet sounds of a modified GT3 RS.

We’re fans of Obsessed Garage. Matt Moreman has a wonderful little collection of cars, but the jewel in the crown is his GT3 RS. Not only is it the result of Moreman’s obsession, it’s a car that helped change his life. We say helped, because no object changes someone. However, it was the car that he started his journey with into managing his mental health and building Obsessed Garage as a brand. If you want to learn how that happened, this post by Moreman on our sister site, Rennlist.com, is a must read.

That wonderful sound you can hear is the result of Dundon Race Headers and a Black Series Center Muffler. Our experience with Dundon is that they not only understand exhaust flow, but they really understand resonance tuning as well. The result is not just great breathing, but also that wonderful sonorous note without any droning on the freeway. Just for good measure, the Dundon headers also shave 50 lbs off of the weight of the stock exhaust system. Yes, 50 pounds.

The video says it’s a Black Series Center Muffler, but we assume he means the MBRP Center Muffler Bypass which is part of the MBRP Black Series. The black coating is pretty much for looks, but the beauty is you can use the sport button to change the routing to bypass the side mufflers.

The end result is something we’ve watched and listened to quite a few times. To call it a symphony of sound is to use a cliche, but the way the sound builds and drops could be described as operatic. We’re just going to call it downright awesome though. And maybe make a ringtone.

His obsession with cars started young and has left him stranded miles off-road in Land Rovers, being lost far from home in hot hatches, going sideways in rallycross cars, being propelled forward in supercars and, more sensibly, standing in fields staring at classic cars. His first job was as a mechanic and then trained as a driving instructor before going into media production.

The automotive itch never left though, and he realized writing about cars is his true calling. However, that doesn’t stop him from also hosting the Both Hand Drive podcast.
