John Cena: ‘Started at an F-150, Now We’re at Ford GT’

The space-age supercar weighs only 3,000 including a John Cena. Because yes, a Cena is a measurement of weight.

The Ford GT doesn’t require much of an introduction. Developed in the ’60s to kick Ferrari’s butt at what they do best — the original Ford GT went on to steal several Le Mans 24 Hours victories away from the prancing horse.

The GT made a come-back in 2006 with a bad ass retro design that could charm the dollars out of any enthusiast’s wallet. Well, at least out of Cena’s wallet, since he’s the proud owner of rare non-striped, previous-gen Ford GT. The pro-wrestler recently took delivery of his new Ford GT from Elder Ford in Tampa Bay, Florida, and he posted a video of the entire experience to The Bella Twins YouTube channel.

Cena shows off the many air intakes and outlets around the carbon fiber body, and by declaring his love for the GT’s buttresses. Oh, and he fists one of the cool tail lights, too. Much to our surprise, the wrestler turned actor is a big fan of the EcoBoost V6 and doesn’t miss a big and heavy V8. After a thorough walk-around of the car, he proceeds to squeeze into it and take it for a spin around the block.
While the video itself won’t teach you anything “new” about the GT, it does a great job at presenting the $400,000 car in a less formal and uptight manner. Most GTs sold to-date have been immediately garaged by their owners, despite Ford’s requirements for actually driving the car and sharing it with the world. However, it seems Cena is intent on showing everyone his GT, for better or worse.
