Koenig Twin-Turbo Ferrari 360 Hits the Auction Block

Twin-turbo Ferrari 360 is violently purple, has a full fire suppression system, a limited-slip diff, and aggressive racecar styling.
You’re more than likely familiar with the fact that Ferrari isn’t so fond of folks modifying their cars. It’s a topic that gets covered quite often. Generally, the consensus is that Ferrari should probably keep its nose out of what its customers do with the cars they own. On the whole, we tend to agree. Of course, there are some Ferrari modifications that are quite questionable. This Koenig Specials twin-turbo Ferrari 360 Modena, though, is a masterpiece. The color scheme may not be for everyone, but we think the build’s details will sway the purple haters.
Currently listed for auction on the legendary powerhouse automotive sales platform, Bring A Trailer, this 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena, which Koenig Specials modified, is for sale in Italy. At the time of writing, it has seven days remaining and sits at a bid of only EUR €55,000. That’s around $64,000. Of course, that price is sure to go up. Overall, though, it looks like someone might just score a deal on a pretty rare ride here.

What is A Koenig Specials Ferrari?
Koenig Specials was founded by Willy König in the late 1970s after he commissioned custom bodywork and performance upgrades to his personal Ferrari 365. Perhaps the most notable car to come from the firm is the Koenig Turbo Evolution, a 1,000-horsepower Testarossa with a goofy-looking F40-esque body kit. Legend has it that König wound up with a direct instruction from Enzo Ferrari to remove all prancing horse logos from the Koenig Specials “abominations.” That said, this 360 still has them. So, evidently, they stopped caring at some point, or an owner put them back. Given that the BaT listing states it wasn’t purple until 2024, it’s safe to assume the badges were applied by the most recent owner.
The curb appeal is absolutely outstanding. If you saw this car in person, you wouldn’t think it was a modified 360 Modena. You’d think you were looking at a racecar someone decided to put on public roads. The unbelievably aggressive styling from the carbon roof scoop and hood vents to the ground effects like the rear diffuser, side skirts, and front splitter really sells the look. Add in the center-lock wheels and the giant rear wing, and you’ve got a winner. The body kit was added in 2006, according to BaT, and it also features carbon-ceramic brakes, carbon-fiber bucket seats, and a 360 Challenge-spec clutch assembly with the F1 sequential gearbox.

A Pair of Turbos, a Dash of Carbon Fiber, and A Lot of Awesome
The BaT listing states that Koenig Specials fitted this car with its twin turbocharger setup in 2003. The roof scoop is functional and feeds air to the rear intercooler setup. There’s no stated power output, but given Koenig’s legacy, it’s safe to assume it’s more than enough for a good time.
Overall, this thing is pretty awesome. We’re happy to admit the purple interior might be a bit over the top, but to each their own, right? We’re definitely going to keep an eye on this listing and see how much this thing brings in!
