Ferrari Enzo Shatters Auction Record, Sells for Over $17 Million

Part of a collection of over 40 Ferraris, this Giallo Modena Ferrari Enzo sold for about four times the previous record at Mecum in Florida.

The chance to purchase a Ferrari Enzo is becoming increasingly rare as they age and are tucked away in private collections. So, it’s not surprising to see their value increasing. When you add a rare color and extremely low mileage to the mix, the number goes through the roof. In the case of this particular example, a bid war drove the final hammer price to an eye-watering $17.875 Million. Crazy enough, it wasn’t even the most expensive Ferrari sale of the weekend.

The Mecum Auctions event in Kissimmee, Florida, 2026, just came and went, and it was wall-to-wall with rare Ferrari models. This particular Enzo was part of a private collection that Mecum auctioned in its entirety at this event. Phil Bachman, a Tennessee-based car dealer and Ferrari collector, was the owner of this collection. After his passing, the entirety of the collection was brought to this auction, with proceeds going to The Phil and Martha Bachman Foundation.

The Most Expensive Enzo in History

Hagerty reports that the $17.875 million selling price exceeded a couple of different milestones. For one, it’s over three-and-a-half times Hagerty’s concours-condition valuation of a 2003 Enzo model. In addition, it’s around four times the previous record Enzo auction. There are a couple of reasons for that at play. For one, most Enzos left the factory in red. This one, however, is Giallo Modena, Ferrari’s staple yellow color. In addition, it has only 649 miles on the odometer. Effectively, this is a brand new Enzo in an extremely rare color.

According to Mecum, Bachman’s favorite color was yellow, and he ordered every Ferrari he could with yellow paint. Exceptions like his F50, F40, and 288 GTO are examples of exceptions. That said, Bachman was such an astute Ferrari collector that the prancing horse allowed him to order his 2006 Ferrari FXX in yellow. Mecum says that it’s the only FXX that left the factory in that color. So, he definitely had a good relationship with Ferrari! Other yellow standouts that sold at the auction are Bachman’s LaFerrari and LaFerrari Aperta, 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 Allow, and a 2011 599 GTO with matching yellow wheels. An addition that, admittedly, is a little tough on the eyes.

We’re not likely to see another Enzo pull a sales figure like this anytime soon. The uniqueness and special circumstances of this car are what drove its price to such a monumental number. The biggest number of the weekend, though, for those curious, was the only Ferrari 250 GTO to leave the factory white. If the Enzo’s sale price didn’t make your eyes pop, the $38.5 million price tag of the 250 GTO just might. All in all, it seems like Mecum Auctions and Florida had a great weekend of selling Ferraris, among other phenomenal cars.
