Lamborghini Urus Escapes Ahead of Beijing: Probably Best to Let it Run Away
As much as we’d love to love Lamborghini’s latest, we just can’t. If Lamborghini patterns it’s lineage of cars after fighting bulls, then “The Urus” should be renamed “The Cow.”

The look is unfortunate, at best. If someone decided to donkify the Aventador, it would probably look a little like this. It’s a shame because the actual styling cues are pretty cool. The rear end looks futuristic and the interior looks like an alien space ship. However, the front end looks like it’s been pinched.  Mostly it’s the fault of those huge wheels. They make the rest of the car look smaller, but of course, they’d be completely useless the minute you left the tarmac.

Now, I’m not going to fault Lamborghini for trying to make money: more power to them. But there’s no way we’re going to get excited about a SUV that’s trying to be a sports car. We can’t blame Lambo for trying to expand the brand beyond sports cars. Their last attempt – the fatally flawed LM002 “Rambo Lambo” – might’ve been a flop, but at least it was different. Instead of a successor to that, we’re getting an X-treme version of the Cayenne.

Of course this is just a leaked concept, so we’ll have to reserve our final opinion for when it makes it’s rounds at Beijing. Right now, though, we can’t help but feel that the the Urus is further proof that Lamborghini has been domesticated. [UPDATE: We saw the actual pics from the floor. It still sucks]
