Meet the New Ferrari GTC4Lusso

GTC4LUSSO

Say Benvenuto to the new member of the prestigious Ferrari family—the GTC4Lusso. As you may notice, the Lusso moniker is back again since its last rodeo in 1964, and Ferrari chose this 2+2 seater to bring it back to life.

Ferrari had hinted toward a new FF variation a couple of weeks ago, but it’s safe to say that no-one expected an entirely new nameplate, and much less a Lusso revival. The GTC4Lusso came to life via press release this morning, and Ferrari says to have designed this for clients wanting to experience the exhilaration of Ferrari driving anywhere, anytime and anyhow.

With an F12-derived 12 cylinder engine, the GTC4Lusso will generate 690 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, and reach 60 mph from a standstill in only 3.4 seconds. Although not official, it will most likely share a similar top speed to the 208 mph of the Ferrari FF. Not bad considering you can fit a week’s worth of groceries in the trunk, and haul three lucky passengers plus yourself.

Having nearly 700 horsepower is exhilarating, but also difficult to put down on the road. For that, Ferrari will use its patented slip side control system and clever all-wheel drive, which will also employ rear-steering for the first time ever on a prancing horse from Maranello. Such technology will make the GTC4Lusso more than capable on dry, wet, and even snowy weather conditions.

With the previous Ferrari Lusso breaking all kinds of price records, who knows what this Lusso will be capable off 60 years from now…
