It’s been since 2007 that we’ve had the Nissan GT-R, and according to reports, the next iteration of Godzilla will be coming soon and powered by Thor’s Hammer!

Ok, so it won’t be powered by Thor’s Hammer, but it could possibly be powered by the companies upcoming LeMans racecar hybrid powertrain. According to MotorTrend, the new GT-R will have around 800 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque delivered by a combination of a retuned GT-R engine combined with a 134 hp electric motor very similar to the LaFerrari and P1’s systems.

If this is true, we will likely see a massive increase in the already bonkers price for the GT-R, pricing it more in line with a Ferrari 458 or Lamborghini Huracan which has been a massive issue with people considering you are still buying a Nissan.

The GT-R’s outwards appearance is also likely to change, especially since downforce will definitely be needed if Nissan decide to go the hybrid racer route. Rumors have been swirling that the next GT-R might debut next year, but again take it with a grain of salt.
