Paul Walker Dead at 40 In Carrera GT Crash

It’s with a heavy heart that I report that Paul Walker, actor and star of the Fast and Furious franchise, died this weekend in a car accident. He was riding as a passenger in his Carrera GT while friend Roger Rodas drove. The accident occurred in Valencia, California at a fundraiser for victims of super typhoon Haiyan.

I could delve into the rumors around what actually happened during the crash… But the truth of the matter is no one really knows yet. Roger Rodas was a skilled driver. He raced in the Pirelli World Challenge along with Walker. Neither one of these guys were novices. It’s well known that the Carrera GT is notoriously difficult to handle. This is a car The Stig had trouble driving, Walter Rohl found scary, Leno spun, and a manager at Porsche called dangerous.

Both Walker and Rodas were huge automotive enthusiasts. Despite what you may think of the FnF franchise, that series has played a colossal role in car culture for the past decade. They will both be missed dearly. Rest in peace.
