We Go Crazy With the Porsche 911 GT2 RS Configurator
Can’t afford a 911 GT2 RS? You can still build one (or several) and pretend thanks to Porsche!
What’s a guy or gal to do at two in the morning, when he or she has watched all episodes of the The Grand Tour and Top Gear? Continue the party to Porsche’s website and build outrageously expensive machinery, of course!
We’ve previously spent an ungodly amount of hours building an Acura NSX, but this time it’s all about Zuffenhausen’s new baby — the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Previously nicknamed the “Widowmaker,” the new GT2 RS features a 3.8-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo engine, which produces 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Oh, and it has a top speed of 211 mph.
The new 911 GT2 RS has a starting price of $293,200 US dollars, and although not confirmed, a little birdie told us most of the production has already been spoken for. In typical Porsche fashion, the model’s sold out before it even goes on sale. Right.
Thankfully for us, that doesn’t matter one bit, because we can’t afford one. Not even half of one, or most likely note even a quarter of one. Because of that, here’s some of our favorite 911 GT2 RS builds from the Porsche online configurator.
