Porsche 911 GTL Coupe Is a 997-Based Restomod

The Porsche 911 GTL is a Singer-esque restomod that starts life as a 997 Porsche 911. The good looks come with a big price tag, though.
There are plenty of people that would argue a Porsche 911 should be left alone because it’s the perfect driving machine right out of the box. However, as much as the 911 deserves the respect it gets, there’s always room for improvement. Rather, there’s always room for adjusting to certain tastes. Certainly, the 997 Porsche 911 is a fantastic car. However, a company called Feuerbach is taking the fantastic 997 chassis as a starting point and turning it into a bespoke driving experience, much like Singer and Guntherwerks do with air-cooled models. Also, like those two legendary brands, the Feuerbach Porsche 911 GTL comes with quite a price tag.
Carscoops brought us the details of this awesome car and the company behind it. Though the name may not be familiar to you, given the fact that the company started in 2019, don’t think there isn’t some pedigree within the brand.

The Company’s Founder Is Porsche Royalty’
Christopher Reitz, the founder of Feuerbach, is the former chief designer for Nissan Europe. Though that’s impressive in its own right, he has quite a connection to Porsche, too. He’s the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, who we assume you’re likely familiar with. So, with that sort of family heritage and design experience involved, one can safely assume that the Porsche 911 GTL is going to be an absolute stunner. The sneak previews that Feuerbach put out seem to confirm that.
According to Carscoops, the car’s bodywork has been re-imagined by Reitz with his Barcelona-based design team and will be made entirely out of carbon fiber. The body features widened quarter panels and front fenders with bespoke LED tail lights in the rear. Additionally, it has a unique decklid and a subtle roof scoop.
In addition, the interior features an overhaul loaded with carbon fiber and legendary plaid upholstery reminiscent of classic air-cooled Porsche 911 offerings.

It Comes With a Bump in Power, Too
It’s not just aesthetics that get a change up, either. The Feuerbach Porsche 911 GTL gets a GT3-derived 4.3-liter flat-six that’s good for 540 horsepower. In addition, it’ll happily rev out to over 8,500 RPM. Carscoops reports that it’ll be available with either a six-speed manual or the Porsche PDK dual-clutch transmission. Furthermore, Feuerbach will offer performance upgrades like enhanced braking and suspension components.
As one might expect, this kind of purchase doesn’t come that cheap. Excluding any taxes, shipping, or options, the Feuerbach Porsche 911 GTL is expected to have a starting price of around $550,000.
Ultimately, though, it’s one of those special vehicles that will likely have no issues selling to the right customers. We can’t wait to see more details as they emerge and take a look at actual production models!
