Porsche 911 GTS Cabriolet Caught on the Nurburgring

Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Cabrio

Porsche, in their effort to make a 911 for every possible buyer, have been fiddling around with a more powerful version of the car to fit between the Carrera 4S and the Turbo. Together with the very early face lift of the entire 911 range, Porsche will introduce new turbocharged engines for all variants but two: the GT3 and the car above.

Photographed close to the Nürburgring in Germany today, the GTS will receive a detuned version of the GT3’s future 3.8-liter motor. You’ll also be able to buy it in a convertible evidently.

Price—hell, the existence of the thing—hasn’t been confirmed by Porsche, but it’s coming. What the real question is whether this 440-ish horsepower GTS will be able to defend the 911 line from the likes of the Jaguar F-Type and Aston Martin Vantage.
