Porsche GT3 Cup Offers Up Nail Biting Action Down Under

By -

Combine a one-make racing series with aspiring pro drivers and you get the non-stop action of the Porsche GT3 Cup.

When it comes to motorsports, the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge is one of our very favorite series. And if you’ve ever spent any amount of time watching this one-make series, you already know why. The competition is among the most heated and intense in the world. When you level the playing field in terms of performance, that’s bound to happen. But Porsche GT3 Cup drivers are also largely semi-pro and aspiring pro drivers. Which means they’re out to prove themselves, each and every lap.

All of which means that you’ll probably have a hard time taking your eyes off the action, because it’s non stop. We’re not talking about racing like you’ll see in other, unnamed series that’ll lull you to sleep 20 laps in. No, Porsche GT3 Cup races feature endless battles and lots of crashes. And that’s the kind of stuff that’ll keep you coming back for more.

If you want proof, this clip provides nearly an hour of intense action from a recent Aussie GT3 Cup Challenge event at Queensland Raceway. And it’s a perfect example of all of the qualities we love about this series. From the front of the pack to the very rear, drivers battle it out relentlessly from start to finish. Even if it means dancing perilously close to (and crossing over) the edge.

For aspiring pro drivers, it’s an endless audition. And for us enthusiasts, it’s simply great TV. If you agree, and we think you will, there’s still one more upcoming event to check out before the 2018 season comes to a close. But the off season will give you plenty of time to catch up and prepare yourself for next  year!
