Picturesque Belle Isle Park in Detroit will host the 5th and 6th rounds in the Pirelli World Challenge series this weekend.  The GT and GTS classes will do battle on the 2.35 mile, 13 turn temporary street circuit. Both the Saturday and Sunday races will be timed events lasting 1 hour and 40 minutes each.

At 439 points, the GT points leader, Anthony Lazzaro in his Ferrari 458 GT3 Italia has a comfortable 46 point lead over Cadillac Racing team mates Johnny O’Connell and Andy Pilgrim.

Cadillac still maintains the manufactures points lead over Ferrari with 29 points to Ferrari’s 25. Audi is in third with 21 points.

In GTS the surprisingly quick and agile turbo powered KIA of Mark Wilkins leads his team-mate Nic Jonsson 376 to 363. Just 2 points out of second place is the Porsche Cayman S of Jack Baldwin.

KIA leads the manufacturer points standings with 26. Porsche holds a close second with 22, followed by Ford with 18 points.

Race one starts at 10:05 A.M. Saturday May 31st. Race two begins at 11:00 Sunday June 1st, EST.
