The Wild Red Star First Heat Proved Mad!
“Race 1 was absolutely mad. “I was lucky to get away with just one bump in what was like a dodgem car race. So I was happy to come home fifth from eighth on the grid. “Race 2 was far easier, and I kept on moving forward to get in sixth for fourth overall. “Onward and upward on another voyage of discovery to East London on 6 August then. “Can’t wait!”
“As expected, Red Star proved to be our toughest test of the season. And that’s exactly how it turned out,” Jurie explained. “I was happy to qualify in the top six and to start on the second row after Superpole, but the first race was a disaster. “A few unlucky outcomes saw me engulfed in that absolutely mad mid pack and I had to drive out of my skin to fight back to sixth.
“Like it was for Gio, my second race was a simpler affair. “But we never quite aced the set-up and slipped back to fifth. “Happily, we now have Red Star behind us with reasonable points haul and my championship lead intact. “So, with three of our strongest circuits coming up for the last three rounds. “Well done to Gio on a great weekend against all odds. “Bullion IT Racing goes onto the second half on the front foot with formidable entries. “Bring it on!”

“Giordano and Jurie faced a tough weekend. “Both can be proud to come away from Red Star with their heads held high,” Bullion boss Strover concluded. “Gio had his best Polo Cup race weekend yet and Jurie weathered a mighty storm with a good points haul. “Well done team!”
