Renault is Going Road Racing
If you’re like me, you love road racing. Seeing cars that look like normal road cars is awesome. You then believe if you get that car, you are a race car driver. That’s why I think right now we are living in a golden age of road racing, because everyone and their brother is building amazing cars to go racing.
Today we got a glimpse of a brand new car from Renault, you know, those Frenchmen across the big blue wet thing? The guys that are in charge of building Formula 1 engines and small French hatchbacks. Those guys. What they also do is create some of the most bonkers road racing cars on the planet, and this one is definitely going to be nuts.
Called the R.S 01, the car will have over 500bhp, and only weigh a scant 1100kg, for those that don’t know the queens metrics, that’s 2400 lbs, so lighter than a FR-S. But with almost three times the horsepower. It’s going to be quick.
The car is set to compete in the Trophy class of the World Series by Renault which consists of three different series including the feeder series for Formula 1.
The car will debut in Moscow at the end of August for the Moscow Motor Show. Be prepared for something ridiculous, their last monster was Sebastien Loeb’s Pikes Peak car, that broke the record by 40 seconds. This is going to be good.
