Lexus LFA Gathering Roar of Angels

Newport Beach hears the Roar of Angels as a vast gathering of Lexus LFA models met along the coast. What a sight to behold!

Seeing a Lexus LFA casually cruising down the street is unique in its own right. In fact, it’s downright rare. Now, imagine you’re enjoying a lovely sunny day in Newport Beach, California, when suddenly 40 of these screaming V10 legends casually cruise by. That’s exactly what happened at a recent meeting called “Roar of Angels.” Frankly, we’re in disbelief that we managed to miss this.

We found out about the Roar of Angels gathering from the Lexus LFA Registry Facebook page. Unfortunately, we found out about it after it happened. That’s a bummer, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled moving forward. We’re not sure with what frequency this occurs, but we’ll plan on making it to the next one! Among the LFA models present at the meeting, there were a handful of noteworthy examples. Let’s check them out.

Rare and Well-Loved Lexus LFA Examples

It’s hard to exclude any LFA from the category of “noteworthy.” However, there were some ultra-exceptional models present at Roar of Angels. For one, it appears multiple Nurburgring editions were present. If you’re unaware, Lexus only produced 500 LFAs before they were discontinued. Of those 500, only 64 were the track-ready Nurburgring edition. So, seeing even one in a sea of “standard” LFAs would be a treat, let alone multiple.

Now seems like a good time to drop a bit of a reminder of the rapidly ascending value of the LFA. Under a decade ago, these cars were trading for less than $400,000. Now, though, the Bring A Trailer sales history rarely shows a price tag below $800,000. The last Nurburgring edition on BaT was bid to an eye-watering $1.7 million and didn’t even sell. Likely, because it didn’t reach its reserve. It’s lovely to see that the owners of these cars are not afraid to take them out for a little time on the road. However, that’s especially true for one LFA owner who was present at this gathering.

High-Mileage Heroes and Vivid Rare Colors

LFA chassis number 165 was present and, according to the Lexus LFA Registry page, it’s one of the most-driven examples out there. Based on the owner’s personal Instagram, it appears the car is based in Texas. However, the Facebook post states that the owner drove the car all the way to Newport Beach for the event and drove back afterwards. We absolutely love to see it.

Finally, the most outstanding car in the photos is, without a doubt, the “Fresh Green” example in the front row of the group photo. Only two LFAs ever left the factory in that color. So, it only makes sense that one would make an appearance at this massive gathering of these awesome legends. Without a doubt, we want to check this out in person next time around!
