Rolls-Royce Going to the Dogs in Geneva
When I think of bespoke luxury, I think Rolls-Royce. When I think about getting a car the exact way I want it, including the humidor in the back seat, I think Rolls-Royce. But the folks at Rolls haven’t offered a really good option for my dog traveling companion. Thankfully, they have solved that problem with a concept car heading to the Geneva Motor Show.
Niels van Roij of London worked with a Ghost chassis and created a shooting brake. A shooting brake Rolls-Royce sounds like an amazing creation. But this one is extra-special; the entire storage area is designed for a dog.
By utilizing a sensor built into a special collar, the car knows when the dog is approaching, and automatically opens the rear hatch and extends a ramp making it easy for the pooch to get inside.
Once inside, the same level of luxury that you get your dog gets, with new top-tier trim options that means you won’t have to sacrifice luxury or comfort to bring your dog along.
Yes, on the surface of it, making a Rolls-Royce just for a dog sounds really silly, but they might be on to something. Boutique pet stores and hotels are becoming commonplace. It’d make sense for a luxury car manufacturer to offer an option.
