The new 991 has been out for a little while now, so I guess it’s time Porsche started rolling out the self-congratulatory special editions. Not that I’m complaining; the Speedster was my favorite permutation of the 997. Also, it’s probably the ugliest thanks to that lumpy rear deck. It looks like the car is wearing a backpack.
Autobild says that the Speedster will only get an emergency-use-only cloth top, a chopped windshield, and hidden door handles. On top of being hopeless impractical, it’ll also be rare, with Porsche building only 550 cars.
Still though, I like it. The ugliness and impracticality of the car make it cool and unreasonable in a way the normal 911 isn’t. Expect it in 2015
