Singer-Williams 911 DLS is F1-inspired Knockout at The Quail
Formula One team Williams works with Singer Vehicle Design to produce brilliantly-engineered 911 DLS.
The price tag is a trifle at just over $1.8 million dollars, but can you really put a price on excellence? Singer seems to think so. Their latest love letter to the Porsche 911, named 911 DLS, was born through a partnership with F1 racing team Williams.
Not only is the Singer 911 built with a beautiful carbon fiber version of the 964 body, but the aesthetic upgrades afford it a retro flare few other could match. The carbon fiber theme continues on the inside, though it is punctuated with supple leather hides, as well. This insane attention to detail explains why this 911 DLS is feather light, at just 2,182 pounds. Not even the most vintage, expensive and rare 911 models are touching that from the factory.
Of course, we all know Singer for their stunning 911 models, so how is Williams involved in this? The engine, of course.
This 4.0-liter, naturally-aspirated flax-six spins to 9,000RPM, while making 500 horsepower in the process. The white jet hot coasting on the headers and exhaust is seemingly color matches to the white body. Of course, that custom built engine is finished in black and anodized gold, except the carbon fiber intake. This engine is safer to eat off of than the 6SpeedOnline kitchen table.
Of course, this being Porsche’s 70th anniversary, the Porsche-related things and events taking place at The Quail this year and big, and many in number. More news as we have it, from Monterey.
