Spy Shots of the Upcoming Ferrari 458…Incendiario!
No sooner did we learn that the Ferrari 458 was getting a pair of lovely turbo chargers then do we find some spy shots of the car being tested!
The heavily cladded new prancing horse was seen the other day running around with a whole host of odd things attached to its magnificent body, including a miss-matched pair of wheels, what look to be a bit larger set of brakes, and some heavy cladding where you really wouldn’t find any as in the doors?
The 458M, M standing for Modificato as it will be called, is set to debut later this year with a million horsepower….Ok, more like 700 hp which will put them right in contention with the McLaren 650S, because Ferrari cannot be outdone by some upstart British pram makers. Ten points if you get that last joke.
One thing I don’t know about it is the name. You have the Italia, the Speciale, the Modena, the Stradale, the Maranello, and even the LaFerrari.
Those are all pretty good names, but the Modificato? Did Ferrari invade SEMA? We get it, you stuck some turbos onto a Ferrari, people have been doing that for years.
How about coming up with a name that strikes fear and wanting into the hearts of the people. Something badass, something so Italian that I’m full from Pizza.
How about the Ferrari 458 Incendiario! It could work on two levels, the first for being awesome and second for when it inevitably goes up in flames!
