The new Cayman GT4 is fast becoming the darling of the automotive media. Why you ask is a Cayman that special, especially when Porsche also debuted the new GT3 RS at the same time.

Everyone wants to take a bite out of Porsche. It seems like every other day, another manufacturer is trying to replicate what the 911 is or does for the general buying public.

Enter the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Special Edition.

When you have friends, it doesn’t matter what the weather is outside. Especially if you and your pals have access to vehicles like a Triumph Daytona motorcycle and a Porsche GT3 rally car.

In terms of road cars, Porsche has had the name “GT3” to itself for a long time. Aston Martin might change that soon, though.

However, while the last GT3 RS made due with just 500 horses, the 997 will come right out of the gate with a full 520 horsepower that should likely get the track-ready Porsche to 62 in under 4 seconds.

The new 991 GT3 is an excellent car. It’s unbelievably fast, it handles like a dream, and no longer has the tendency for self-immolation. Thankfully. Now though, it has earned even more praise from Road & Track who named the new Porsche its “Performance Car of the Year.”
